Sabrina L. (Facas) Walker, 45, of East Hartford, passed away with family by her side on Thursday, March 24, 2022 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Sabrina was born in New London on July 10, 1976 to Hendrick and Gail (Bowen) Facas. She was a licensed drug and alcohol counselor and was a clinical supervisor at the Health Care Resource Center in Hartford. A 1994 graduate of Waterford High School, Sabrina earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and then a Master’s degree in Psychology, both from The University of New Haven. She loved working with people, which led her to open her own therapy practice.
Sabrina married Edward Walker in April, 2005. They welcomed their first child, Ariel, in 2007, and their second child, Mason, in 2010. Her children meant the world to her, and there is nothing she wouldn’t have done for them. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Waterford where she was married and where her children were baptized.
She lived life to its fullest and loved spending time with her children. She would take them on vacations to Disney, on family cruises to the Caribbean, basically anywhere where there was palm trees and sun. She loved to do any and all things that involved family and friends.
An avid collector of anything with a Palm Tree, when not traveling you could find her curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee – or taking walks with her kids.
In addition to her husband, Edward, and children Ariel and Mason she leaves behind her brother, Hendrick Facas II and his wife Melissa of Manchester; and her sister, Anissa Starr and her husband David of Lisbon, CT. She also leaves behind brothers-in-law Michael and wife Mary Walker of California, David and wife Jackie Walker of Glastonbury; and her sisters-in-law Debbie Green of East Hartford and Nancy Shasha of South Windsor, and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Hendrick Facas, I.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 41 Cross Road, Waterford. Private burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Relatives and friends may call at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Wednesday (March 30, 2022) from 4 -7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her children’s’ educational fund in care of Ariel and Mason Walker, 77 Holly Road, East Hartford, CT 06118. For on-line expressions of sympathy to the family please visit www.desopoeh.com.
