Joann M. (Sinsigalli) Kent, 59, of South Windsor and formerly of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Manchester Memorial Hospital with her beloved family by her side.

Born in Hartford on January 26, 1965, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Anne (Laskey) Sinsigalli, she had resided in East Hartford for most of her life prior to moving to South Windsor over ten years ago.

Joann was a graduate of George J. Penney High School, Class of 1983. Always with a care for children, she operated her own home daycare center for many years prior to working at Shop-Rite supermarket in Vernon. Joann enjoyed traveling – especially to the beach – camping in Vermont, and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, Boston Red Sox and area casinos.

She also liked watching television shows, such as “Law & Order” and “Judge Judy”. An animal lover, she received such joy being with her dogs.

Joann is survived by her two loving sons: Daniel R. Kent and Kevin J. Kent, both of South Windsor, with whom she made her home; two beloved brothers – Robert Luisana and his wife Karen of Greensboro, NC, Salvatore Sinsigalli and his wife Heidi of East Hartford.

Joann leaves behind her caring boyfriend, Robert E. LaFontaine. She was predeceased by the father of her children, John C. Kent. She was loved by her pet dog Monty; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Funeral service celebrating Joann’s life will be Friday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery.

Joann’s family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, June 27, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
